PICHARDO Sterling Silver & SAPPHIRE BLUE GLASS CORN BRACELET. This charming vintage bracelet is from Taxco, Mexico and is one of the rare but well-know "Corn" pieces by F. As the bracelet is signed without the Taxco Eagle mark, it dates from prior 1948, during the Mexico's silver renaissance. Other artists of that era also in Taxco were William Spratling, Antonio Pineda, Diego Rivera, and others, and Pichardo's quality and design reflect these influences. The bracelet is sterling silver and features engraved corn husks, dimensional corn silk, and lovely blue corn cobs.I can't say for sure if the blue is sapphire or glass, though I do know Pichardo did use genuine stones in other Corn pieces. The clasped wearable length of the bracelet is 7.5, and it's about. The piece is signed F. The bracelet shows surprisingly light wear for it's age, and the clasp works as it should.
Overall, it's a beautiful piece. Please see all pictures for additional details, as they are intended to be a part of the description.
