We attribute it to Moser with the enamel treatments being typical of those from Ludwig Moser's.It dates to the mid to late 19th century. It is decorated with enameled Japanese figures seated on rugs surrounded by birds and foliage. The female figure balances a bird on her finger, and the male figure is smoking a pipe. There are additional miniature gilded scenes and enameled decoration around the perimeter of the box. It's a truly exceptional casket with a very rare subject matter. It is in overall good, as-pictured used estate condition with minor rubbing to the gold, some very fine and.
