Carl Helmschmied Belle Ware 5.25 Opal Glass Dresser Box, Pale Blue

Welcome to Antiques & Moore! This listing is for a pretty medium Belle Ware Art Glass dresser box by the Carl Helmschmied Manufacturing Company, c.

Measures 5 1/4" in diameter and 3" high. Belle Ware was made by the Helmschmied Manufacturing Company of Meriden CT from opal glass as competition to the more famous Wave Crest glass produced by the C. The opal glass blank was hand decorated in a similar style to that of Wave Crest glass.

Washington Glass Company and painted by the decorators at Helmschmied. This lovely dresser box features a soft pale blue background with blue enameled flowers on the white opal glass top. The top and base are fitted with a decorative brass band. The hinge is tight and box opens and closes correctly. The condition of this lovely box is excellent with no chips, cracks or repairs. There is minor wear to the decorative pale blue garland that encircles the top border. The brass band has nice patina and reflects minimal signs of normal wear. Box is marked "Belle Ware".
